xAI ships Grok Voice 3.0 for Tesla cars and Starlink support calls

SpaceXSI announced Grok Voice 3.0 on Oct. 14, a speech-to-speech model with under-one-second latency that already powers millions of daily conversations in Tesla vehicles and about 20,000 Starlink support calls on weekdays.

Why it matters: Grok Voice 3.0 is live in Tesla cabins and Starlink support at the same $0.08/min API price as Voice 2.0.

SpaceXSI published Introducing Grok Voice 3.0 on Oct. 14, calling it a new speech-to-speech model with latency under one second. The company says the model already handles millions of conversations a day across Tesla and SpaceX. The Verge highlighted one production claim from that post: Starlink call centers use Grok Voice for about 20,000 customer calls every weekday.

In Tesla cars, SpaceXSI says drivers can plan multi-stop trips, place calls, play music, adjust climate, and search Controls by voice, plus use Connectors for simpler tasks such as checking a calendar and Grok Bot for larger ones such as booking dinner, all hands-free after saying "Hey Grok." The same release says Grok Voice 3.0 powers Grok Bot voice mode and is natively multilingual. For Starlink support, the company says roughly 70% of those weekday calls resolve with no human in the loop, and about one in four sales calls ends in a purchase before the caller hangs up.

On Artificial Analysis results dated Oct. 13, SpaceXSI reports Grok Voice 3.0 at 86.9 on the Speech-to-Speech Index, ahead of GPT-Live-1 (Astra, Medium) at 83.2 and Gemini 3.8 Live at 82.6, with 97.0% on Full Duplex Bench and 71.6% on τ-Voice. On ServiceNow's EVA-Bench, it cites 74% accuracy as the top score. The Voice Agent API price stays at $0.08 per minute. Agents on `grok-voice-latest` switched automatically; release notes mark `grok-voice-2.0` deprecated. Tesla has not published a separate vehicle firmware note tying the cabin voice path to a specific build, so in-car availability still depends on software and market.

How to read it

This is a model and production-usage release from SpaceXSI, not a Tesla software update bulletin. Cabin features land where Tesla has rolled Grok; API customers on the latest alias were moved without a price change. Benchmark numbers are vendor-cited independent tests, not Tesla road tests.
